Farmer’s market

The conceptual design of a farmer’s market in Semyonovsky Square area. The market, in addition to its main function, i.e. retail sale of fresh products, may well become a public space and a gastronomic attraction point for the district’s residents. People can make purchases, try new dishes in cafes, meet friends and take part in farmer’s market events — presentations, master classes, and tastings.

Architects emphasized the multifunctionality of the facility — its layout includes a trading floor, tents, a food-court, cold stores, service rooms, walkways, toilet facilities, a workshop area and an administration office. Inside the market, there is an interesting interior design with wooden structures, which are somewhat reminiscent of pillars of mighty trees. The market’s facade is made of durable glass, which allows visitors to see the unusual layout from the distance. The design when illuminated in the dark also becomes a navigation element and an art object.
