Eleanor ‘s review of our bureau internship:

I interned at the architectural firm MAParchitects. I found them from the Archi.ru publications. I liked the presented works and publications on the site. I noticed that I am close to a similar approach to design and that I would like to be part of such a team, at least during the summer internship.

I’ve been working on several projects. The first of which combined three separate projects, but territorially adjoining each other. This was necessary for a common view of the territory and to work out how they were connected to each other. The work was at a stage close to the final, so I was given several more small tasks on pictures and diagrams. The second project was the development of the settlement. At university we were already doing the settlement and it was interesting to compare, how projects are made in university and how they are designed in real life, with customers and all norms. At university we have already made a settlement and it was interesting to compare, how projects are made at university and how they are designed in real life, with customers and all norms. Spoiler: It is heaven and earth. We did not go deep into this topic at school and at the output you just have to have a beautiful picture of the general plan and a more or less logical location of the infrastructure. In fact, every aspect of the design was not just something to learn by the rules, but literally become a local resident of this village. Constantly thinking about what it’s like to live in it, how to get there, how to relax and what you want to see in it.

The summer practice time was something very short and fast. I didn’t expect it to end so soon and that I would enjoy working so much. I am very grateful to the MAR team for having had such a wonderful opportunity to get to know the bureau and be part of the team, to understand what it’s like to work as an architect and to see for myself how things go. I have gained invaluable experience and pleasant acquaintances. Now I have a better understanding of where I want to go next and what I will need to do this.
